Great for patching small nail holes to larger holes and cracks – it can be used for different surfaces on walls, ceilings, wood, drywall, plaster, stucco and masonry. There are three primary formulas – heavyweight (for larger repairs such as doorknob holes and large cracks), lightweight (for minor holes and cracks) and high performance/professional grade. There are three categories to consider: Spackling compounds, joint compounds and plasters. Take into consideration the surface to which it is being applied, size of holes and cracks to be filled, and how long the product takes to dry and how it is applied.
