Roller Cleaning Tips by David Wirebeck – taken from American Painting Contractor, June 2010

Here are successful steps to cleaning rollers:
1.) Scrape excess paint into a paint can with the curved edge of a five-in-one scraper or putty knife.

2.) Remove cover from frame and hose out the inside of cover; if there is dried paint, take fine-in-one tool and scrape off paint.

3.) Return cover to the frame, then using a 5-gallon bucket, place the handle part of the frame into the bucket, straddling the side of the bucket with the roller part on the outside. Position yourself behind the bucket so you don’t get wet, with the hose, make the roller spin, moving the hose from top to bottom and back until the roller is clean. It will be completely clean with no excess water.
